Philosophy

Philosophy is defined as a field of study and/or research where people create theories and ideas about the nature of life the universe and everything. It covers diverse subjects such as ethics, logic, metaphysics, and law. Philosophers primarily concern themselves with such fundamental and interesting topics as to whether or not God or spirit (or the spiritual world) actually exist, questioning what the nature of their being is, and the heavens, what is truth, what is our consciousness, collective consciousness and what makes really is right or wrong, or is there even a "right and wrong".

The fundamentals of western philosophy is the use of reasoning to evaluate arguments of the above given subjects. However, the methodology of philosophy is in itself debated, with many varying opinions.

So now that we know what philosophy is, let's talk a little about it. You see I used the image "imagine" for the header image of this article. That is because the human imagination plays an important role in philosophy. Our ability to think outside the box, to question the "norm" and come up with our own theories and conclusions is the very heart of philosophy. We are all philosophers in our own right, very few of us, even the most strictest adherents to fundamental religion, all question "something" that we have been taught.

This differs from skepticism insofar as skeptics simply "disbelieve" whereas the philosopher chooses to not necessarily disbelieve, but rather remain a walking question mark, evaluating everything and coming up with their own ideas, or deeply exploring the ideas of others.
