The Paranormal
The reason the word paranormal even exists, is because our human minds have to provide an explanation to everything it seems. In most people's minds absolutely nothing is unexplainable. So, like humans do, we make up a new word and put our minds at ease. The word paranormal does not make most people uncomfortable, nor does it make cold sweet break out on your brow, it gives us an almost scientific word, and it is comforting in a way. Stories or experiences of the paranormal certainly cause some people's minds to feel dread and fear when they are unknown or unexplainable. Things that fall into this category, as you might expect, are:

Parapsychologists study paranormal events, in fact the very name originates from the paranormal. Many people have had experiences that fall into one of these categories. Are you one of them? Though there has been significant research into some areas of this category. Even the CIA looked into such things as remote viewing and psychic espionage. It is not uncommon for governments to try and use the paranormal as an edge, to gain global advantage over other countries. Have they succeeded? Well, since no one government "rules the world" it's not likely. Belief in these types of things requires for the most part, a large leap of faith. As with all things spiritual, be careful what you believe in and put your faith into! |
